Somehow, its suddenly mid-June. Just how the time slips by us as quickly as it does, I havent the slightest idea. Over at our office, 8:00am quickly transcends into 8:00pm, and Im left wondering where did the day go? Where did the month go? Better yet, how on earth is this year halfway over?
The way I see it, June marks the time of year when life begins to finally slow down a bit. With kids out of school, graduations and proms over, and spring sports wrapping up their seasons, its time to turn our focus to a summertime schedule which hopefully will allow for a little more leisure and a lot more fun.
Here at the Pasadena Voice, June has so far been one of those months where our staff has worked nonstop to cover each of the many, many events on the community calendar. From the annual Magothy River Day celebration out on Dobbins Island to the Downs Park Family Fun Day, to Chesapeakes and Northeasts senior proms, we were there. And of course, we have them featured inside this issue.
Speaking of prom, I have to admit going through the dozens of prom photos made me miss (just a little) my own senior year. It is such an exciting time, and theres so much anticipation for what lies ahead. Check out the prom and graduation photo spread inside this issue we captured a lot of really awesome moments. Our staff at the Pasadena Voice wishes nothing but the absolute best for the Class of 2012.
On June 6, I was lucky enough to attend the grand-opening celebration at Maryland Live! Casino, and wow what a truly incredible, state-of-the-art facility. While the thought of Anne Arundel County having its very own casino is still a little bizarre to me, Id bet my last dollar on its rapid growth and success in our region. If you havent yet already, I would definitely recommend checking out the place its really incredible.
As always, if you have any story ideas, photos, or news tips from the Dena, be sure to send them my way Hayley@pasadenavoice.com. Happy summer!
