We’ve reached the end of another work week, and it’s time for the weekend! A special highlight this weekend is the 66th Annual Anne Arundel County Fair, which kicked off on Wednesday. As you know, Hurricane Florence has made landfall over the Carolinas and is set to bring a lot of rain to our area this weekend, so make sure to double check for any cancellations before heading out. As always, be safe!

 

  1. Anne Arundel County FairAll Weekend
    It’s Fair Week! The Anne Arundel County Fair is back for its 66th installment. The fair features a variety of contests, including Poultry Princess, Cutest Kid and Arundel’s Got Talent. There are activities that appeal to all, whether it be carnival rides or learning about the county’s agricultural roots. Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds, 1490 Generals Highway, Crownsville. Times vary. $7. More info.
  2. Rotary Family Fun DaySaturday, September 15

Are you looking to get your kids out of the house this weekend? The Lake Shore-Severna Park Rotary is hosting its annual Family Fun Day. The event features a variety of activities, like pony rides, swimming, a petting zoo, carnival games and more. There will also be food available for sale. The Y in Pasadena, 26 Magothy Beach Road, Pasadena. 10:00am-2:00pm. More info.

  1. Celtic Celebration @ Renn Fest Saturday, September 15, and Sunday, September 16

This weekend, the Maryland Renaissance Festival is hosting a Celtic Celebration! There will be Celtic music galore featuring Celtic performers. In addition, there will also be bands North Sea Gas, Dublin 3 and Chesapeake Caledonian Pipes & Drums. Get out and enjoy the Celtic festivities! Maryland Renaissance Festival, 1821 Crownsville Road, Annapolis. 10:00am-7:00pm.

  1. Eric Ray @ Downs ParkSunday, September 16

This week’s free concert at Downs Park features Eric Ray, a guitarist, singer and songwriter. Ray performs a variety of music, including popular songs from the early days of rock ‘n’ roll to today’s hits, as well as his own original material. Grab your chair, pack some food and head over to Downs Park for a relaxing evening. Downs Park, 8311 John Downs Loop, Pasadena. 4:30-6:30pm. More info.
