Congratulations! You made it through the first week of school! Now it’s time to have fun. There are plenty of ways to get outside this weekend, whether you’re being courted at RennFest or relaxing and listening to live music.   1.  “A Christmas Story” Auditions – Saturday, September 8, and Monday, September 10

Are you in the Christmas spirit yet? The Pasadena Theatre Company is holding auditions for its upcoming production of “A Christmas Story.” Auditions are on Saturday at 1:00pm and Monday at 7:00pm. We triple-dog-dare ya to audition! Stage & Screen Studios, 215 Najoles Rd., Millersville. Times vary. More info.

  1. Romance Weekend @ RennFest – Saturday, September 8 and Sunday, September 9

Grab your special someone because it’s Romance Weekend at RennFest! And if you’re single, no need to feel left out! There’s a singles party on Saturday from 11:00am-2:00pm at the Dragon Inn featuring the famous Number Message Board. For those who are committed to another, renew your vows at the Blackfriars Theatre on Sunday starting at noon. Maryland Renaissance Festival, 1821 Crownsville Rd., Annapolis. 10:00am-7:00pm. $7-19.   1. Forgotten Farm Tasks @ Hancock’s – Sunday, September 9

No rest for the wicked! Head over to Historic Hancock’s Resolution this Sunday to learn about and take part in forgotten farm tasks, such as harvesting sorghum, crosscut sawing, spinning, musket firing and more. Separate from these tasks, there will also be beekeeping demonstrations. Historic Hancock’s Resolution, 2795 Bayside Beach Rd., Pasadena. 1:00pm-4:00pm. Free. More info.

  1. Fast Eddie @ Downs Park – Sunday, September 9

Are you looking to get up and dance this weekend? Head over to Downs Park on Sunday for Fast Eddie & The Slowpokes. With a setlist inspired by classic blues, Motown and rock ‘n’ roll, you’ll be sure to get on your feet during the performance. Downs Park, 8311 John Downs Loop, Pasadena. 4:30pm-6:30pm. Free.
