Each month, the Pasadena Voice poses a question to a local fifth-grade class. This month, Mrs. Hibbard’s class at Pasadena Elementary School answered the question:

“If you could switch places with your parents for one day, what chore would you make them do?”

If I could switch places with my parents, I would make them do the dishes because I hate scrubbing the spoiled milk off my brother’s cups.

Alex C.

I would make them do the dishes because I have a family of eight. There could be a mountain of dishes in the sink, and it takes forever to finish.

Ashley G.

My parents would have to vacuum the living room because I don’t like doing it or wrapping up the cord.

Bella S.

If I could switch places with my parents for one day, I would make them do all of my school work so they would figure out how difficult the work is each day.

Cate S.

I would make my parents clean the dishes because it is my least favorite chore.

Elias R.

I would make my mom and dad take out the trash. The trash really stinks and there are lots of flies around the bins. My driveway is long, but the smell and flies follow you as you walk.

Evelyn O.

I would make them clean my chameleon’s cage because it is smelly.

Jerome B.

If I switched places with my mom, I would make her clean my room because I don’t like doing it.

Jim P.

If I could switch places with my parents for a day, I would make them do my homework and school projects because I already had a full day of school and my parents are already educated.

Joleigh H.

I would make my mom clean the horse stables, and she would know how I feel about it. I hate it.

Kaitlyn K.

If I could switch places with my parents, I would have them do my homework because it makes me stressed out.

Keira W.

If I switched places with my parents for one day, I would make them clean the bathroom because it is gross and smelly.

Landon O.

I would make my parents take care of the chickens. They would have to feed them, give them water, let them out of the run, and collect eggs. The chickens always jump on the water container and knock stuff over.

Liam L.

My parents would have to clean my room because it is my biggest chore and I don’t like to do it. They would have to clean the floor and my closet, organize my shelves and make my bed.

Lily V.

I would make my parents groom the dogs because their hair never seems to let go.

Logan N.

If I could switch places with my parents, they would take out the garbage because it stinks and it is heavy.

Maddy S.

I would make my mom and dad polish my drums because they do not care for drums like I do and mom makes me clean her car.

Matthew C.

I would make them scrub the tub because I don’t like to get wet and messy.

Michael V.

If I had to switch places with my parents, I would make them take out the trash because it is cold, dark and wet outside.

Neal S.

I would make my mom clean her office because I can’t go in without falling. I would make my dad fold his clean clothes because we do it for him.

Seymone G.

My parents would clean their rooms, because it is good to have a clean room so they can focus on what they really need to do.

Skylar M.

I would make them clean the house while I leave cookie crumbs all over the place.

Thalia R.

If I switched places with my parents, I would make them clean up the dog waste because it is gross and it stinks!
