The PSC Storm U11 girls soccer team elevated its level of play to win a tournament championship at the November Cup in Crownsville by going 3-0 at the tournament and defeating Arundel Soccer Association on penalties in the championship game.

Following a 4-2-4 season in the top division of their league, the team of Emilee Mack, Leia Boudreaux, Gracie Asare, Riley Haney, Jaide Whitehead, Lillian Patrick, Laci Levesque, Alison Muzik, Emily Bryant, Isabela Paez, Leilah Horrigan, Addison Bianco, Lillian Barnum, Riley Bessling, Hutton Pitts and Ayla Weseman entered the November Cup and promptly rattled off three wins to claim the tournament championship. In the championship game against ASA, Mack scored an equalizer to force overtime, and after scoreless overtime periods Whitehead, Haney and Asare handled penalty kick duties and Bianco manned the goal to secure a 2-1 victory and the tournament title.

Coach Cary Shank, who coaches the team with Ricky Boudreaux, Mike Bianco and Kaley Koester, was proud to see the girls perform well after moving up from Division 3 last season to Division 1 this season, and said the girls’ performance in the tournament was likewise stellar.

“Each girl on the team brings something special, either with a killer throw-in or making amazing saves or even the never-give-up-attitude,” said Shank. “But this team’s heart and dedication allowed them to grow and improve not only as individuals, but as a team as well. They have formed a special bond with each other that helps them both on and off the field. We truly have become a soccer family, and I can’t wait to see what we can do in the spring season.”
