PHOTO GALLERY: CHS Students Use Hancock's As Educational Resource

Posted

Today, Chesapeake High School students visited Historic Hancock's Resolution to utilize the farm as a variety of educational resources.

Environmental science students learned about invasive species, as well as conducted water and soil testing.  The child development classes learned about how to lead activities with elementary school students so they can potentially help the Hancock's docents during field trips.

Going forward, CHS wants to bring its art students to allow them to sketch and photograph Hancock's Resolution, and the Maryland history classes can learn about the oldest farm in the state.

"We have a jewel of a resource right in our own backyard," said Melissa Bajadek, the Signature coordinator at CHS. "This is an amazing opportunity to build a relationship."
