What a load of baloney! I'm choking on the crocodile tears.

Republicans don't care a lick about gerrymandering, in general. Overwhelmingly, they love it, which is why the vast majority of gerrymandering across this country has been to their advantage. You don't see any honest Republican outrage over their own efforts to gerrymander - which are only increasing. That's where the real harm is happening - anyone who genuinely cares about this issue would attend to that problem first. Except they don't care. Democrats end up with tiny fractions of congressional representation despite having a greater number of total votes cast. Republicans only attend to the needs of 'their' voters, not all voters. Yes, gerrymandering is, in principle, wrong. But serious efforts to resolve the issue are not in MD, they are in other states where the problem is far more impactful on our nation. Focusing on Maryland would only increase the divide and make any chances of undoing the greater harm done even harder.

We don't need to wonder whether Maryland Republicans would be remotely bothered by this if (or when) the shoe were on the other foot. Of course, they won't be. Maryland Democrats infatuation with patting themselves on the back for 'doing the right thing' and 'supporting the sane ones' is flabbergasting. They seem intent to bring a spork to a gunfight.
