A memorial has been set up at the scene of a fatal crash following the death of 14-year-old Ryan Beales.
On October 21, Anne Arundel County police officers responded to the intersection of the B&A Trail and Robinson Road for a collision involving an e-moto, similar to an electric dirt bike, and a pickup truck. Beales, who was operating the e-moto, was flown to an area hospital and died from his injuries the next day.
Community members have left flowers, candles, balloons, stuffed animals and other tributes at the site, where many have gathered to remember Beales, who was a freshman at Severna Park High School (SPHS).
In a letter sent to families and staff on October 23, SPHS principal Nathan Johnson wrote, “This was Ryan’s first year in the Severna Park community, and he quickly made friends in our school. He was a positive presence in our hallways, classrooms, and cafeteria, and he approached instruction with a positive attitude. He was very supportive of our students with special needs, and he had a great smile.”
The Severna Park Voice staff extends sincere condolences to Beales’ family and friends, who are in our thoughts and prayers.
