Extra! Extra! Chesapeake High School To Present “Newsies”

Chesapeake High School Theatre Company will present “Newsies” starting this weekend. Based on the 1899 New York City Newsboys' strike amidst rising competition between publishing moguls William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer, this is a fast-paced, exciting, family-friendly production you don't want to miss.

Under the direction of Kristen Bishoff, more than 60 cast and crew members, adult production mentors, newly-formed drama boosters, and countless family volunteers have been hard at work to bring to life the inception of yellow journalism and themes of using your voice and advocating for workplace rights that still resonate loudly in today's society.
