Friends Helping Friends, At Home And Around The World

Recently, a group from Long & Foster's Severna Park office congregated at the Orphan Grain Train warehouse on Veterans Highway in Millersville for a Service Day project.

OGT is an all-volunteer Christian organization that provides humanitarian relief both internationally and domestically. It provides medical supplies, medical equipment, diapers, school supplies, Bibles, desks, bikes, chairs, sewing machines and sewing supplies, filing cabinets, linens, shoes, clothing and hygiene items, to name a few. Orphan Grain Train has even sent musical instruments, altar paraments and sports equipment, when requested. All of the items we ship are donated.

When Tim Blanchfield from Long & Foster called to say agents wanted to volunteer at OGT, they were welcomed with open arms. Bonnie Jordan was a major organizer of the event. The volunteers from Long & Foster came, watched a video that tells the OGT story, and had hands-on experience packing clothing and assembling hygiene kits. These items were included in a shipment which was headed for Liberia.

At the close of the work session, Severna Park Chick-fil-A provided lunch for all.
