Greater Pasadena Council Candidate Forum Has Strong Attendance

Posted

An enthusiastic crowd of about 150 residents turned out Wednesday, October 19, at Our Lady of the Chesapeake Church in Pasadena to hear 14 candidates for the upcoming election focus on their backgrounds, issues and Pasadena’s future at a campaign forum sponsored by the Greater Pasadena Council (GPC).

All candidates for U.S. Congress, District 3; state senator, District 31; state delegate, District 31; and Anne Arundel County executive and sheriff discussed their qualifications and expectations, as additional candidates running for other offices also attended to interact with the crowd before and after the event.

“What was encouraging is that the folks who attended came from many parts of Pasadena,” said Nancy Schrum, event co-chair. “It showed there is real interest across the neighborhoods in who is running for office and what they are saying.”

Moderator and event co-chair John Spencer said, “The turnout and the broad attendance sent a strong signal to the candidates that Pasadena cares. This will really make a difference after the election as issues come to the forefront.”

The next meeting of the Greater Pasadena Council is Tuesday, November 15, at 7:00pm at the Mountain Road Library. The featured speaker will be Katie Wargo of Northern Lights Against Substance Abuse. The meeting will also focus on future issues and programs for the Greater Pasadena Council to consider. For more information, go to: https://greaterpasadenacouncil.weebly.com
