Though Maryland has begun to reopen, social distancing guidelines and outdoor and indoor group limits have impacted many local events. Here is an update on a few of Anne Arundel County’s seasonal favorites.
Anne Arundel County Fair
The Anne Arundel County Fair’s board of directors made the decision to cancel the 2020 fair and all Halloween festivities in October. The full fair will return September 15-19, 2021. This year, the fairgrounds will host several livestock invitationals for regular fair exhibitors as one-time shows. More information is available on www.aacountyfair.org.
Kinder Farm Park Fall Harvest Festival
The Fall Harvest Festival was originally scheduled for October 10. There is no plan to reschedule at this time. For more information, visit the Friends of Kinder Farm Park website at www.kinderfarmpark.org.
The bike ride was scheduled for October 4. Anyone registered can request a refund, roll registration to October 3, 2021 or donate the fee to the nonprofit beneficiaries. The Children’s Bike Rodeo & Family Fun Ride will still take place on October 4 next to Kinder Farm Park’s main visitor center. For more information, go to www.lifeline100.com.
Maryland Renaissance Festival
Maryland Seafood Festival
The Maryland Seafood Festival, which was scheduled for September 25 and 25 at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, is being postponed. The event will take place on September 25 and 26, 2021. All tickets purchased for this year’s festival will be honored for 2021.
The St. Jude Zumbathon
The eighth annual Zumbathon will now take place on September 19 at the Severna Park Community Center. The event was originally scheduled for March 21 and raises money for families affected by childhood cancer. For more information, visit the “MD 8th Annual St. Jude Zumbathon” Facebook event page.
