Maryland Historical Society To Discuss Women’s Suffrage

In light of the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment (August 18, 1920), the Maryland Historical Society (MdHS) is hosting “Unlocking the Exhibition: The Women In Forgotten Fight” on Thursday, August 20, from noon to 1:00pm. During the free virtual program, Historical Society staff members will discuss discovering the forgotten women who fought for women’s suffrage. Registrants will learn about the long, combative road that Marylanders traveled to get their right to be heard.

Led by Joe Tropea, MdHS’s curator of films and photographs; Mallory Herberger, special collections archivist; and Ashlee Anderson, digital learning specialist, the one-hour program will discuss how each one of them uncovered these women in history and brought them to light through the Historical Society’s collections.
