Pasadena Church Tackles Trafficking With Informative Event

Posted

Our Lady of the Chesapeake Catholic Church will host an event on April 22 from 7:00pm-8:30pm to educate parents, youth and the community about the dangers that lure children into sex trafficking.

The event will feature experts including Ed Thomas, the Aglow International mid-Atlantic region’s anti-human trafficking coordinator. Thomas is also a co-chairman of the Eastern Shore (Maryland) Human Trafficking Task Force.

“The public is unaware that human trafficking, sex and labor exploitation occurs in their communities and that there are steps they can take to prevent and stop trafficking,” Thomas said. “Young people, social media, and human trafficking unfortunately go together.”

The second speaker will be a detective from the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

The livestreamed presentation will be available at www.facebook.com/ourladyofthechesapeake.
