PBA Update

Posted

The Pasadena Business Association had a great Taste of Pasadena. We had some new vendors this year, which always adds a new spice to the event. The vendors included Angel’s Food Market, Bella Napoli Italian Restaurant, Bruster’s Ice Cream, Beefalo Bob’s, Cheshire Crab, Glory Days Grill, Kurtz’s Beach, Lauer’s Supermarket & Bakery, Mutiny Pirate Bar & Island Grille, Pats Select Pizza Grill, Primo Pasta Kitchen, Sam & Maggie’s Dockside Grill, the Greene Turtle, Texas Roadhouse and The Y of Pasadena (Jack’s Cafe). Several attendees told me it was the best Taste of Pasadena yet, so that was great to hear. Our chair for the event, Lisa Hart from Arundel Federal Savings Bank, worked hard to keep everything organized and put on such a wonderful event.

PBA will award more than $15,000 in scholarships to local Pasadena students at our June general membership meeting. We are so proud of this program and how it has grown since it was started in 1990. Our annual scholarship fundraiser in March is a big part of the donations, and we thank all of the businesses and the community members who supported the event. We also want to thank the Greene Turtle and Texas Roadhouse for hosting a scholarship night and helping us raise even more money this year. Celebree Learning Centers had a community day and donated more than $500 to the scholarship program.

PBA will have a Shop Local Festival on Saturday, June 16, from 10:00am to 2:00pm at Lakeshore Plaza. This is a great event to showcase our members. PBA members can set up a tent or use ours and bring their business to a large group of people in one setting. PBA members can register on the website (you must reserve a spot). If you are not a PBA member, there is still time to join and be a part of the Shop Local Festival.

The community can enjoy a good time while shopping for goods and services. This is a community event with games and activities for the kids, vendor demos, special offers, music and more.

We will collect food donations at the Shop Local Festival to help feed Pasadena families in need.
