PBA Update

Posted

We’re headed into a busy season for the Pasadena Business Association. Several big events and projects are on our calendar throughout the fall and early winter.

First up for us is a ribbon cutting to mark the grand opening of Mike’s Pharmacy II. Grand opening week begins Monday, September 26, but the ribbon cutting will be held on Saturday, October 1, at 1:00pm. Stop in the store anytime September 26 through October 1 and fill out a ticket for the raffle (one ticket per day please). The grand prize is a football autographed by Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, and runners-up will receive gift cards to Mike’s Pharmacy.

The PBA’s 21st annual Caring and Sharing Parade will be Sunday, November 6, at 2:00pm. We are now seeking corporate sponsors who can donate $200. As a corporate sponsor of the parade, you get a spot in the lineup toward the front of the parade (with signage that states you are a corporate sponsor), an announcement from the reviewing stand, and your name listed on the CD and in all advertisements. Our parade is videotaped and played on cable TV.

Be sure to come watch the parade. The parade will start at Tick Neck Road and go right onto Edwin Raynor Boulevard South (at the intersection of Fort Smallwood Road). From there, it will go right onto Tick Neck Road (after approximately 1,000 feet), right onto Mountain Road, right onto East Shore Road, left onto 218th Street and left onto Outing Avenue. The parade will conclude at George Fox Middle School.

We collect food and/or donations along the parade route to stock our local Pasadena food pantries, so look for the Lauer’s truck. Please come out and watch the parade or request a packet to participate.

The PBA’s sixth annual Veterans Day flag ceremony will be on Friday, November 11, at 1:00pm. The memorial flag is located at the intersection of Mountain Road and Route 100. Parking will be provided at Lake Shore Athletic Complex on Woods Road. After you enter the park, proceed about a half-mile to the pathway to the flag. We will post signs to direct you. Come out and show your support for the men and women who did and do protect this country.

Last but not least, the PBA’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony is coming. Join the rest of the community as we continue this fun tradition on Tuesday, December 6, at 7:00pm in Lakeshore Plaza. The event will feature a special visit from Santa and his magic sleigh, fire apparatus, Christmas carolers, face painting and more. In addition, the tree lighting ceremony will support the PBA’s A Child’s Christmas gift drive, and we will accept cash or unwrapped gift donations to put under the tree. These gifts go to local Pasadena children in need.
