PBA Update

Executive Director, Pasadena Business Association

I hope everyone got outside the week of February 14 to enjoy the warmer weather. It has been so cold this winter I know everyone is getting cabin fever.
With spring right around the corner, the PBA has many exciting events and activities planned for the community.

The PBA Scholarship Fund Raiser is a great way to get out of the house and help a local high school senior attend the college of their dreams. It is a St. Patrick’s Day-themed party, so grab your green and come out for a great afternoon of dancing, a silent auction, and great food. It will be held March 13 from 2:00-6:00pm at Kurtz’s Beach.
Our Membership Directory and Community Guide is currently in progress and the deadline is March 25. Putting together the Guide is a long process that requires a tremendous amount of work. I need to thank Maureen Agro, Cityline Business Park, for her donation of time and talent to this wonderful product. She works on this project for six months, and we are lucky to have such a dedicated member.
Additionally, Northeast and Chesapeake High Schools will hold a High School Summer Job Fair on March 9 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Big Vanilla in Pasadena. Employers who will be hiring during the spring and/or summer may participate by registering with Michele Devine, mweber-devine@AACPS.org or Jackie Dunn, JADunn@aacps.org. Many PBA members will be at the event to talk to prospective employees as well.
The PBA is also busy with our Shop Local campaign and we encourage everyone to support community businesses whenever possible.
