THE PROGRAM

As today’s students enter our workforce, they are facing new challenges and opportunities never imagined. Ravens Roost #129 recognizes the contributions of these students, and the important role that education plays in their development. We believe that education is the key to success.

This scholarship is exclusively funded by Ravens Roost #129 of Lake Shore, a nonprofit organization. We are a local group of Ravens fans that volunteers our time and efforts to help our local community.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for this scholarship must currently be seniors at Northeast High School or Chesapeake High School and plan to enroll, or who are already enrolled, in a full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school, for the entire upcoming academic year.

AWARD

Four scholarships will be awarded in the amounts of $1,000 and $500.

APPLICATION

Interested students must complete the application, provide a complete grade transcript and submit a 500-word essay (see contents of essay). Applicants will receive acknowledgement of receipt of both their application and essay. If an acknowledgement is not received within two weeks, applicants may contact Ravens Roost #129 to verify that the application was received. Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied, therefore, answer all questions as completely as possible. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated. Deadline for application and essay is April 15. All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed only by Ravens Roost #129.

CONTENTS OF ESSAY (500 Words)

The Baltimore Ravens had to adjust, compromise and learn how to work differently together during COVID-19 restrictions to continue as a team.

How have you become a better team player during this pandemic?

What are the positive things that you have seen or discovered about yourself and how will this help you succeed as you continue your education?

SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS

A scholarship recipient will be selected based upon the essay submitted. The recipient will be chosen by the Ravens Roost #129 of Lake Shore scholarship committee. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final. The winning applicant will be notified by May 1, 2021.

PAYMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP

Payment will be by check and made payable to the student. Check will be presented at the awards ceremony in May.
