For earning straight A’s during the first three marking periods during this 2018–2019 school year, 52 fifth-graders were honored by the Pasadena Business Association at Two Rivers Steak & Fish House on April 25. All of the elementary schools in the Northeast and Chesapeake feeders have participated in this recognition event for about 15 years. This year, the schools with students who qualified were Bodkin, Fort Smallwood, Jacobsville, Riviera Beach, Solley, and Sunset elementary schools. Students received a free lunch compliments of Two Rivers. An ice cream dessert was provided by Bruster’s Ice Cream and transportation was offered by C. Muhl Bus Service. The PBA paid for adult chaperones to attend and the PBA collected items for each student to receive a goody bag, as well as citations from the county executive, state delegate offices, and the Pasadena Business Association.

Paulette Morris of Idea Weaver Promotions provided drawstring backpacks for each student. Arundel Federal Savings Bank, Calvert Veterinary Center and Century 21 Don Gurney all made donations to the goody bags.
