The Chesapeake soccer programs earned reasons to celebrate on Wednesday.
The girls played South River to a 2-2 tie, coming from 2-1 down in the second half and equalizing on Brooke Hurst’s second goal of the game before grinding out a draw in two overtimes. Sarah Cutler had 15 saves for Chesapeake, which is now 2-1-1 overall.
The Chesapeake boys fared even better as they defeated South River 2-1. Sam Adams scored off an assists by Nick Wells, and Julian Denardo scored the game-winner off and assist by Eli Belcher. Ethan Belcher had 14 saves for Chesapeake.
